Postgradaute Certificate in Arts (Social Theory)

The postgraduate certificate provides an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study and may qualify graduates for entry to the postgraduate diploma.

Course objectives: Students who complete the postgraduate certificate should:
understand the major social theories relevant to contemporary critical enquiry;
demonstrate critical engagement with significant debates in the discipline;
develop skills of critical analysis in relation to specific areas of social theory.
Entry requirement: The minimum entry requirement is:
an undergraduate degree with a major in social theory or cognate discipline and a grade average equivalent to an H2A (75%) at the University of Melbourne
or
a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Social Theory) with a grade average equivalent to an H2A (75%) at the University of Melbourne.
Course intake: February (Semester One) and July (Semester Two)
Applications: Applications close 31 October (February intake) and 31 May (July intake). Late applications may be accepted, subject to the availability of places.

Duration: 6 months full-time / up to 1 year part-time
