Dr John Cash

 

Dr John Cash studied English and Politics in his undergraduate degree at the University of Melbourne and did his doctoral research in Political Science at Yale University. His research interests are in the fields of social and political theory, psychoanalytic studies, the politics of identity and the analysis of contemporary subjectivities. He has a particular interest in the study of conflict in Northern Ireland and other divided societies. His publications include Identity, Ideology and Conflict: the structuration of politics in Northern Ireland (1996) and a series of articles which draw critically on contemporary social and psychoanalytic theory in an attempt to develop novel approaches to the study of entrenched ethnic conflict. He has taught at Universities in the United States and Australia and has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland.
